Freo snuck home over Port and Brisbane dropped a game they shouldn’t have against the Swans. They are both looking to grab a top two spot so that they are guaranteed to play home finals until the Grand Final. They need to win both games until finals and hope that the Pies, Cats or Crows falter. The top nine sides are so tight that both sides need to win at least one more match each to ensure they play finals.

Caleb Serong, Patrick Voss with three goals for the fourth week in a row and Luke Jackson played well again to ensure the Dockers got up over the plucky Power last week. The switch of Jaegar O’Meara to the wing and Nat Fyfe from sub to inside mid in the second half against Port got Freo the win they needed. Fyfe who is retiring at the end of the season had six disposals, five contested, three clearances and three score involvements and O’Meara excelled raking in 14 disposals and four inside 50’s in the second half. Freo may get their gun midfielder Hayden Young back this week if he passes his fitness test.

For the Lions, Brandon Starcevich could return after being a late withdrawal with a minor hamstring injury against the Swans, and Ryan Lester will be back too after missing the Swans game with concussion. Lachie Neale will be out again with a quad injury.

Brisbane will be looking for the midfield to dominate possession with Dunkley, the Ashcroft brothers, McCluggage, Fletcher and Fort looking to provide their forwards with plenty of goal scoring opportunities. Zac Bailey, Charlie Cameron and Cam Rayner will provide the X factor for Logan Morris and Eric Hipwood to work alongside.

This should be a great game and Freo will have the home crowd to assist them.

Brisbane by 2 points

Fremantle and Brisbane are set for an intriguing contest, with both sides aiming to strengthen their position in the current AFL season. Fremantle has been building consistency at home, often using strong defensive pressure to restrict opposition scoring. Brisbane has shown moments of brilliance in attack but will need to tighten their defensive structure to stay in the contest.

Looking at AFL Betting Tips for this match, previous meetings offer some insight. Brisbane claimed a solid win in their last encounter, using quick ball movement to break through Fremantle’s backline. Playing in Perth could change the dynamic, with Fremantle’s home-ground advantage often influencing the flow and momentum of the game.

This season’s statistics show both teams performing well in contested possessions, but Brisbane’s midfield depth may help them gain more opportunities at clearances. Fremantle will rely on disciplined defence and accurate forward entries to put pressure on the Lions’ backline.

An AFL Prediction for this clash should factor in recent form and the tactical changes each coach may introduce. With finals aspirations at stake, this shapes as a physical contest likely to be decided in the midfield and by efficient conversion inside 50.
