PlayUp was launched in 2019, with the platform built on purchases of former Australian sportsbook brands (MadBookie, TopBetta and ClassicBet), which were merged under the PlayUp brand.

PlayUp Interactive Pty Ltd brought it all together. Still, the innovative betting and technology-driven company also branched out further as they purchased Draftstars, the country’s biggest Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) book.

PlayUp offers an excellent but straightforward betting platform. Here is a quick, step-by-step guide you can use for your online betting with the operator:

Register or Login

A nice touch in the complete A-Z sports listing is that the ones with Same Game Multi features are indicated with an icon. Around 20 different sports are covered in the PlayUp sportsbook, which lacks coverage of more niche areas. Major sports like the NRL, Australian Rules and Soccer have good market depth and bet variety. Non-sports features like Entertainment and Politics are also available in the section.

There are some decent, competitive sports betting odds at PlayUp. However, our experts didn’t find anything of note in terms of margins that would mainly set them apart from other leading competitors.
The bet management is handled well on the bet slip. The overall bet variety is pretty strong through different sports, with 75 markets on average for NRL matches and 100+ on current AFL fixtures.

No live streaming is available at PlayUp, but some live betting is available. This is quite limited in terms of the covered events and the available markets on a live fixture. Depending on the sport, there are things like margins, handicaps and correct score markets to examine. Live bets have to be phoned into the operator. There is also no in-game graphics or stats for customers to follow.

The PlayUp platform is straightforward to use. The overall layout is essential, particularly when viewed on a computer. Navigation is perhaps not the sharpest that users will come across. The convenience of picking from a list of current sports events on the homepage is lacking.

But there is a search tool to help speed things up and a customisable menu. Customer support details and links to the mobile apps are prominent. The site runs on a dark-background theme, which looks nice and generally feels a little easier on the eyes in terms of brightness, especially on mobile.
