The first Saturday of the NBA season is here and I’ve got tips for two of the best matchups. The Celtics battle the Knicks in the morning at MSG in a playoff rematch. While over in the West, the Lakers and Timberwolves will also meet again after facing each other in last year’s playoffs.

Best Bet
With the Celtics missing Tatum, their scoring ability is likely going to suffer. With the trends saying Under as well, this should be a tight and low scoring one. In the Knicks last 15 home games, the Under has gone 10-5 and they allowed just 111 pts against the Cavs in their season opener.
NBA Same Game Multi Tips
Here are my NBA same game multi tips for the Knicks against the Celtics.
- 1st Leg – Under 228.5: As mentioned, the Under looks like the best bet based on Tatum’s absence and the Knicks defence in Game 1.
- 2nd Leg – Celtics +9.5: Boston do have a 15-5 road record dating back to last season and have won 5 of their last 7 in New York against the Knicks. It shouldn’t be a blowout so the Celtics should be able to cover.
- 3rd Leg – Knicks Over 110.5: The Knicks scored 119 pts in their first game of the season and also scored 119 against the Celtics in the last meeting at MSG.
Minnesota Timberwolves (1-0) at Los Angeles Lakers (0-1)

In a rematch of last year’s playoff series, the Lakers will look to get some revenge over the Timberwolves and pickup their first win of the season.

With LeBron looking on from the sidelines, the Lakers went down to the Warriors 119-109 in their season opener at this venue. Doncic finished with 43 pts and 1 assist short of a triple-double.

With a 30-19 performance in the 4th quarter, the Timberwolves got the job done against the Trail Blazers in their first game of the new season. Edwards was on fire, hitting 5 threes in his 41 pt haul.

Best Bet
In the Lakers last 7 games, they’ve failed to cover in 6 of them. They didn’t look great against the Warriors and LeBron is out. Minnesota is arguably a tougher matchup and they have the wood over LA, covering in 4 of the last 5 meetings.
NBA Same Game Multi Tips
Here are my NBA same game multi tips for the Lakers against the Timberwolves.
- 1st Leg – Luka Doncic 8+ Rebounds: Doncic did pretty much everything in Game 1 for the Lakers in their loss against the Warriors. He finished 17 of 27, 43 pts, 12 boards and 9 assists. After 12 defensive boards, the 8+ market offers a safe bet.
- 2nd Leg – Austin Reaves 25+ Pts: Reaves had 16 shots in the first game of the season against Golden State and should continue to get the same looks with no LeBron. He also finished with 26 pts and 25+ offers good value for this multi.
- 3rd Leg – Anthony Edwards 30+ Pts: After a 41 pt performance against Portland, Edwards should continue his scoring ways in LA. Los Angeles gave up 31 pts to Butler last game and Edwards could easily do the same.
