Here are our AFL tips for GWS v St Kilda – including our best bet, player prop, and Same Game Multi, with odds brought to you by BetBetBet.
The Saints and Giants bring excellent form into this game having both won four of their last five games. The Giants need to win to ensure they play finals and will be hoping the results of other games fall their way to give them a home final. Will that be at ENGIE Stadium? The SCG isn’t in the shape that it should be, with Chris Scott telling us that it isn’t fit for AFL football so the Giants may get a home final at ENGIE!
The Giants went into last week’s game against the Suns without several key players, but that didn’t faze them as they controlled the game from start to finish. For GWS, Finn Callaghan 29 disposals at 83% efficiency, 8 score involvements and 8 clearances, Tom Green 29 disposals, 8 clearances and 9 score involvements, Lachie Whitfield 27 disposals and 9 score involvements gave the Giants forwards plenty of opportunities. Harry Rowston had only kicked one goal from 15 career games but had a game to remember kicking 4 goals against the Suns. Gruzewski 3 goals, Cadman 2 goals, Bedford 2 goals and the skipper Toby Greene 2 goals, all had excellent games against the Suns last week and will be looking to continue in that form.
The forward line will again have to cope without the spark of Jake Stringer who has a hamstring injury that will keep him out for 2-3 weeks, so it could be season over for him. The Giants will be looking forward to getting Jack Buckley back into the backline with Leek Aleer likely to make way. Jesse Hogan will miss again with his foot issue, but Brent Daniels may come back into the side this week for his first game since Round 14.
Young guns Finn Callaghan and Tom Green up against Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, the highest paid player in the league after signing on for $2M per year and Marcus Windhager could well decide the result. Add in Briggs and Coniglio against Marshall and Steele and we have a midfield contest not to be missed.
Callum Wilkie, Marcus Windhager, Jack Higgins 3 goals from 4 kicks for the game and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera got the Saints over the line against the Bombers last week. They will need to be at their best again to notch up another win over the Giants. Jack Carroll starred for Sandringham last week with 29 disposals and may get another opportunity at AFL level.
Hopefully we get a great contest as the Saints try to finish their season with a 5th win in a row and the Giants have their finals berth on the line.
