AFL TIPS: GWS v North Melbourne

05 August, 2025

Sunday, August 10 – 1.40 PM AEST – Venue: Manuka

GWS are in the mix of 4 teams trying to finish in the eight. One has to miss! They also want to finish 5th or 6th to secure a home final, so they need to keep winning.

They were smashed by the Bulldogs last week at Marvel with no wind or rain or any excuse. They need to rebound quickly and should do so against the Roos, who have had a disappointing season.

Jesse Hogan and Jake Stringer will welcome Toby Greene back after being out suspended after a brain fade. It should be easier for Cadman to get off the leash and add to his goal tally.

Coniglio should be ready to find his feet again after being out for so long and not getting much of the ball the last three weeks, and Tom Green in the middle and Lachie Whitfield off half back will be crucial to the Giants chances.

Zurhaar, Darling and Larkey will provide the Roos with great avenues to goal as long as the mids can get hold of enough footy. Parker, McKercher, Sheezel, Powell and Simpkin will need to be at their best if the Roos are to win. The Roos defence cops a hiding most weeks and they too will need to tighten up and not allow the Giants forwards time and space. Cooper Harvey and George Wardlaw will be important too.

GWS by 42 points

When you flick on Round 22 footage between GWS and North Melbourne, you’re watching guts and glory collide. GWS delivered a blistering performance at Manuka Oval on August 10th, charging to a commanding 54-point win 133 to 79 dominating every quarter with energy and precision. Callum Brown lit the scoreboard up with five goals, and Aaron Cadman wasn’t far behind, slotting four of his own. Midfield dynamo Finn Callaghan laid the heavy hands on 31 disposals, while Tom Green provided 25, shutting down North Melbourne’s engine room.

For footy fans looking to blend form with intuition, these are the kind of rounds where AFL Betting Tips can feel more like AFL Tips borne from watching the teeth-and-claw moments. GWS looked like a team determined to cement their finals finalsing and give themselves the percentage boost they so desperately needed. If you’re mulling over your own AFL Prediction, trust not just the numbers but how confidently a side asserts its style. After that showing, GWS aren’t just favourites they’re making a statement.
