Ross Lyon comes up against his former team with St Kilda’s season in freefall. The Saints
were bitterly disappointing in their loss to Hawthorn in Launceston, leaving them 3-6. St Kilda
have suffered a tough run with injury, but so have a lot of teams and the Saints simply don’t
have the depth to cover. Fremantle were given a free pass for losing to Sydney in trying
circumstances. The Dockers were competitive, but completely inaccurate, as they took to the
field less than 24 hours after the death of former player Cameron McCarthy. Both teams play
a gritty, defensive game style so this contest will likely be a low-scoring struggle.
