NRL Round 13 Preview By Dean McHugh

30 May, 2024

It’s round 13 in the NRL, a number often associated with bad luck. However, bad luck is not something we’re accustomed to here at MyBettingMate. Granted, our bet of the week went down for the first time in weeks last week, but we more than made up for it with another clean sweep on Saturday, the Cowboys went over the totals mark on Friday and we were two for two on Sunday.

Eels vs Sharks by Dean McHugh

Round 13 kicks off with what looks like a walkover on paper as top of the ladder Cronulla travel to the struggling Parramatta. However, what we must remember is that it’s origin week and many of the Sharks will be missing for this one. They also got annihilated 42-0 to the Panthers last week.

So will it be the Eels that smell blood this week? I think not. No matter how many players are missing for Cronulla I have to take them to beat Parramatta. The Eels have lost by margins of 28, 14, 16, 32 and 16 in recent weeks. This includes losing to bottom of the ladder South Sydney last week. The players that come in for Cronulla will also look upon this one to get some game time and perhaps force their way into a regular starting place.
