Hey race fans! Another quiet midweek, which was disappointing. Lorax ran fourth at Canterbury Park on Wednesday and Biripi Perfection was scratched on Thursday. Lorax was certainly well fancied by the odds makers and punters alike, but never really recovered from a poor start. This weekend looks a lot more promising with action coming from Rosehill Gardens, Caulfield, Belmont and jumps racing at  Sportsbet-Ballarat.

Saturday 15th August Rosehill Gardens Race 8 - Chilly Girl

This is an absolutely wide open, cracking race, and while there is a long list of lively contenders, it means there will be great value on offer. You’ve got the more experienced runners such as Chris Waller’s Hidrix going up against the likes of Blue Door and Chilly Girl, who have no glass ceilings. We think it’s worth taking Chilly Girl here. She’s done all of her work at this track and has won a Group 3 race, clocking up a very good time in the process.

Saturday 15th August Caulfield Race 7 - Cosmic Crusader

Saturday 15th August Belmont Race 7 - Silver Eye

This is a very intriguing race, with many of these stepping up in class here. That cannot be said about Silver Eye, who has been racing in much better company than many of these, without being disgraced. There are question marks over the distance, as we usually see him over a further trip. But we could see him try to take an early lead here and run the legs off of many of these.
