The first of three games on Saturday sees the Warriors host the Broncos. After good starts to the season, both teams have tailed off recently and they need to get things going if they’re going to go deep this year. The Warriors have lost their last two, including a humbling 66-6 defeat to the Titans last time out. The Broncos are winless in three and during that run they also lost to the men from the Gold Coast, albeit only by two points.
The Warriors will be hoping a return to New Zealand will help them forget about last week’s crushing defeat as they have picked up wins in two of their last three games on home soil. However, it won’t be easy against a Brisbane team that have also been good on the road recently, winning three of their last four.
It would take a brave soul to pick a winner in this one, so I’m going to look elsewhere. Instead, I’m going to opt for the Warriors to pick up plenty of points. If we disregard last week’s freak result, they have gone over the total set by the bookmakers here in four of their last five. The Broncos have also conceded over the total set in their previous three matches.
