Hawthorn’s rebuild under Sam Mitchell continues to take shape after downing the Brisbane
Lions for a fifth-straight time. It was an impressive response from the Hawks following their
capitulation against Port Adelaide seven days earlier. Hawthorn could jump past the Lions,
and Adelaide if they knock off the Crows on Saturday. Adelaide are almost always
competitive on the road but have few wins to show for it during Matthew Nicks’ tenure. They
return to the MCG for the first time since they suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Collingwood
in round 10. Adelaide brutalised West Coast last week, but that performance will count for
little if they can’t account for the Hawks.
TIP: Hawthorn by 13 points, Will Day to have 20 or more possessions
