Another huge Saturday of racing is set to unfold across the country with strong metropolitan meetings at Caulfield in Melbourne, Gosford in New South Wales and Morphettville in Adelaide on Saturday, 9 May 2026. With autumn form now well established, several runners look perfectly placed to capitalise on ideal race conditions, fitness peaks and favourable maps.
We’ve highlighted a handful of runners across the three meetings that profile strongly on recent performances, distance suitability and weight advantages. From progressive stayers at Caulfield to a well-weighted each-way play at Gosford and a proven favourite at Morphettville chasing a winning streak, these are the runners we’ll be keeping a close eye on this weekend.
Finding an edge at tracks like Caulfield, Gosford, and Morphettville requires looking beyond just the surface stats. Recent form across the major racing tournaments shows that track conditions are playing a massive role in how these fields settle. At Caulfield, the rail position often dictates whether back-markers can actually make an impact, while the tighter turns at Gosford reward those with early tactical speed.
When searching for reliable Horse Racing Tips, it pays to watch how runners handled their last two starts under similar pressure. Our latest Racing Tips focus on consistent performers who have shown they can handle the travel and maintain their kick in the final furlong. It’s all about spotting those subtle gear changes and past track successes before the markets adjust.
Caulfield R5
#7 Oceana Dream
Had a great first prep winning twice over a mile back in NZ. Good win first up for Moody’s and stays at the mile here. Strong, can win again.
Caulfield R8
#6 Immediacy
He slots in to take a sit just behind Black Run and Smokin’ Romans. Looks his best trip and is dropping back 400m from the Mornington Cup, also races well at Caulfield.
Gosford R8
#9 Rotagilla (each-way)
Found form in the Spring around this distance range and held it very well. Won 2nd-up at this trip and now carries just 53kg. Drawn in Gate 4 so have to think gets a great run and should be in the finish. Each-way all day at $7 (or 1×3).
Morphettville R6
#2 Arran Bay
He’s one of our favourite horses to back but he’s a weight special here after winning with big weights and drops to 56.5kg. The bookies haven’t missed him but can make it 3 in a row.
