Potentially the biggest QClash since Gold Coast entered the AFL in 2011, the Brisbane
Lions have been under more pressure than at any point during Chris Fagan’s coaching
tenure. The Lions slumped to 2-5 with an insipid effort against GWS, leading to serious
questions around the hunger for last year’s beaten grand finalists. The Suns lost
nine-straight matches to the Lions before turning the tables late last season. The little
brother would love sticking another knife in their Queensland neighbour’s faltering campaign.
TIP: Lions by 14 points, Joe Daniher to kick two or more goals
Brisbane sit at 2-5 after a flat showing against GWS, and Chris Fagan is feeling the heat. Gold Coast come in with a 37-point win over West Coast and a 41-point result against these same Lions last season. Yet the Suns are still chasing their first road win of 2024, and the Gabba has long suited Brisbane. Anyone reading AFL betting tips this round should weigh that form against the venue. My AFL tips lean toward the Lions bouncing back, and my AFL prediction is a margin of around two goals. Please set a limit, then stick to it.
